Autumn Apple-Picking Is a Popular Pastime at Wright’s Orchard

With autumn right around the corner, Wright's Orchard in Tolland will soon see an influx of apple-pickers. Some of the orchard's apples are already in season, like the Gala and the Gingergold apples. Honeycrisp apples ripen to perfectly pink around September 5th; Cortland apples are ready to be juiced starting September 15th; and Macoun, the most popular apples at the orchard, can be picked for pies and applesauce on September 20th. By October, virtually all of the apple trees are ready for the harvest.

Apple-picking is only part of the fun at Wright's Orchard, however. You can also come here to pick a pumpkin, then take it home to carve and illuminate. Or just check out the gift shop, which showcases seasonal flowers in addition to home-baked treats and gifts for anyone who's into the rustic style.
