Usher In the New Year With First Night Hartford

With New Year’s Eve falling on a Saturday this year, why not make it a day-long celebration? The festivities of First Night Hartford will start at 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 and continue until the ball drops. To participate, purchase a First Night Hartford wristband, which costs $12 for adults and $3 for kids ages 3-15.

The first perk is $2 off CT Science Center admission price starting at 10 a.m., which is a great way to kick off the day with the family. After your visit, try out some of the great family-friendly activities available throughout the day, like the Launch Trampoline Park at City Hall, or hop on a horse drawn carriage ride, ice skate, or get your faces painted. For the adults, there will be performances by Sea Tea Improv Company at Bushnell Park, Cirque du Soleil activities, dance classes and more. It will all culminate with an epic fireworks show at midnight in Bushnell Park. If you have kiddos that can’t stay up that late, there will be a 6 p.m. show as well.
